When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.-Psalm 34:17-18
Answer me quickly, O Lord! My spirit fails! Hide not your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit. Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.-Psalm 143:7-8
Prayer to Escape Depression
Father,
I am lost, alone
enveloped by darkness
broken
sinking
suffocating
exhausted by my pain
I carry the weight of sorrow
I am tired and lonely
disconnected
feeling alone and useless
small, insignificant
Your blessings surround me
yet I can see no future
I don’t belong here
have lost myself
and hide my face from You
faith tells me in You healing is certain
help me to believe completely
to let go of my fear, my guilt
let You take control
and free me of this affliction
help me to trust those sent to heal me
to reconnect with my world
feel worthy again
to lift the fog, throw off this yoke
and bring me back to the joy
You have bestowed upon me
and bring me back into Your service
Amen
